Bitumen
Bitumen is the heavy residue of crude-oil distillation and the binder that holds together every asphalt pavement, waterproof membrane and roofing felt in the world. Its performance is defined by consistency at service temperature, adhesion to aggregate and resistance to ageing. IFENERGY supplies the full range of penetration, viscosity, oxidised, cutback and emulsified grades, each released only against a batch certificate of analysis.

01Grade families and where each is used
Penetration grades (40/50, 60/70, 85/100, 120/150). Classified by needle penetration at 25 °C. 60/70 is the global workhorse for hot-mix asphalt in temperate and hot climates; 85/100 suits colder regions where flexibility matters more than rutting resistance.
Viscosity grades (VG10 – VG40). Specified by absolute viscosity at 60 °C under IS 73 and AASHTO M226, giving a more direct link to high-temperature pavement behaviour than penetration alone.
Oxidised / blown grades (85/25, 90/40, 115/15). Air-blown to raise the softening point and reduce temperature susceptibility — used for roofing felt, pipe coating, damp-proofing and industrial sealants.
Cutback and emulsion. MC, RC and SC cutbacks are diluted with solvent, while CRS, CSS and CMS emulsions are water-based — both allow cold application for prime coats, tack coats and surface dressing.
